Back in June, Jerry Bruckheimer brought us news that a Top Gun sequel was a real possibility with Tom Cruise wanting to revive it in some way, shape or form. Since that time, 3 months has past and it now seems that the sequel is more likely than ever.

Paramount Pictures has made offers to both producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to follow up their action classic, and has a missile-lock on Oscar-winning screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) to update the script, one in which Tom Cruise’s Maverick would play a smaller role.
The question on all your minds no doubt though is will Tom Cruise star in the movie? Well, according to this report, Cruise would be up for starring in the movie but only with a small role so it may not be the last time we see Maverick on the big screen!
