It’s an image which is sure to cause the sort of consternation usually reserved for the first glimpse of Snyder’s Batman or a new James Bond. Earlier today Universal released the first official still from their forthcoming adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey with the reveal of Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey.
Certainly the most interesting element to the film is director Sam Taylor-Johnson whose previous film was her feature debut Nowhere Boy, a provocative take on the early like of John Lennon. Elements of ego and devotion are certain to be played with in her adaptation of the first of E. L. James’ erotic literary typhoon. It will almost certainly be the chemistry between the two lead actors that will drive the film, particularly as we’ve got two more Fifty Shades books on the shelf waiting in line to be thoroughly adapted.
I’d imagine that we’ll see Dakota Johnson next before the trailer debuts in a few months. Until then here’s Jamie…
