Jacob Elordi has jumped into negotiations to join Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic thriller ‘The Dog Stars’ at 20th Century Studios.

Elordi replaces ‘Gladiator II’s’ Paul Mescal who has had to drop out due to conflicting filming schedules with Sam Mendes ‘Beatles’ anthology movies.

Based on a 2012 novel by Peter Heller, the ‘Dog Stars,’ the screenplay was penned by Mark L. Smith (Twisters) and is expected to be Scott’s next film after a Bee Gees biopic for Paramount.

Elordi would take on the role of a pilot named Hig who befriends a cranky gunman as they try to outlast a roaming band of scavengers called Reapers.

The Australian actor recently starred as Elvis in Sofia Coppola’s ‘Priscilla’ and plays the monster in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming ‘Frankenstein.’ Elordi’s other upcoming projects include the final season of HBO’s ‘Euphoria’ and Warner Bros.’ ‘Wuthering Heights’ opposite Margot Robbie which is also set to go into production in the first quarter of 2025.
