We found out last month that Boardwalk Empire star Jack Huston was being eyed for the lead role of Eric Draven in the planned remake of The Crow which was originally set to star Luke Evans. However, it now appears as if both his and another major piece of casting has been confirmed by creator James O’Barr.

Talking recently at the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention (see the video below), he revealed that “ack Huston has definitely been cast” and stated that he is “really happy with that choice.” The comic book writer also offered an update on the production of the movie, claiming that it “will shoot in a couple of months.”

Unlike the original movie which starred Brandon Lee, this version of The Crow will apparently stick a lot closer to the graphic novel. For example, director Corin Hardy is apparently considering using a stop motion animation crow to bring to life the bird that talks to and accompanies Eric throughout the comic book.

O’Barr also revealed that Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay will take on the role of Eric’s murdered girlfriend Shelly in flashbacks throughout the movie. Most of the cast will be made of Brits in fact, with a popular Game of Thrones actor also in The Crow according to the creator. Hopefully we’ll hear more soon.
