It looks like robots are fast becoming the new vampire for Hollywood.

Hugh Jackman has robot/human boxing drama (?) Real Steel on the way, Steven Spielberg is planning an adaptation of the novel Robopocalypse, and now Jack Black and Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink have bought the rights to How To Survive A Robot Uprising (another book by Robopocalypse’s Daniel H. Wilson.)

A source has revealed to io9 that the rights to the book were acquired by Black and Pink, having originally optioned by Mike Myers.

The book’s premise is pretty self-explanatory in its full title (How To Survive A Robot Uprising: Defending Yourself Against the Coming Rebellion), but it’s a fun, satirical take on your usual survival manual.

It’s not clear yet whether Black will star in the film or if Pink will direct, but as always, we shall report when we hear anything.
