Interstellar-LogoIt should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is one of the most anticipated movies of 2014.

The first trailer is due to be attached to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug over the weekend, and here’s to hoping that it will land online very soon after (if not before). In the meantime, Warner Bros. has teased us with the film’s official logo, to help make the wait a little easier.

The official synopsis is still being kept under wraps, and I’m rather hoping that it stays that way, even after the first trailer has been released. We do know that the film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding, and there’s a possibility that it also involves corn.

Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway lead Nolan’s brilliantly-assembled cast, starring alongside Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley, Topher Grace, John Lithgow, David Oyelowo, Ellen Burstyn, David Gyasi, and Mackenzie Foy, with Matt Damon reportedly playing a small role in the film as well.

Nolan is directing from his own script, combining his own original idea with a previous script by brother and frequent collaborator Jonathan Nolan.

Nolan’s last entirely original film was of course 2010’s Inception, which took home four Oscars, and more than $800m. at the global box office. Needless to say, we’re all excited to see what comes next.

Interstellar is set to be released in regular and IMAX cinemas on November 7th, 2014. With any luck, we’ll have the first trailer to share soon, and in the meantime, here’s the official logo to whet your appetite.
