Toni Collette and Jessie Buckley have joined the cast of the Netflix feature ‘I’m Thinking of Ending Things’ along with David Thewlis.

The trio will join the already cast Jesse Plemons on the film which will be written and directed by Charlie Kaufman.

Based on Ian Reid’s 2016 novel of the same name the story follows Jake (Plemons), a man going on a road trip to meet his parents on their secluded farm with his girlfriend (Buckley), who is thinking of terminating their relationship. When Jake makes an unexpected detour leaving her stranded, a twisted mix of palpable tension, psychological frailty, and sheer terror ensues.

Kaufman is also producing with alongside Anthony Bregman, Bob Salerno, and Stefanie Azpiazu. Ian Reid will serve as co-producer.

Buckley made her breakthrough in Tom Hardy series ‘Taboo’ and has since become hot property. She will next be seen in ‘Wild Rose’. Her upcoming projects include the biographical drama on Judy Garland, ‘Judy’ with Renee Zellweger and ‘The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle’ alongside Robert Downey Jr and Tom Holland.

After starring in the terrifying ‘Hereditary’, Collette was last seen in the Netflix film, ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’ alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo. Her upcoming projects include  Rian Johnson’s ‘Knives Out’ alongside Chris Evans.

Thewlis, who has previously starred in ‘Fargo’ the ‘Harry Potter’ saga and ‘Wonder Woman’ is set to also star in the upcoming ‘Avatar’ sequels. He is currently filming the drama ‘Guest of Honour alongside Luke Wilson.
