The 98th Academy Awards celebrated the best films of 2025 with a night full of surprises, emotional speeches and major wins. Held at the Dolby Theatre on March 15, the ceremony saw filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’ dominate the night, taking home multiple awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Meanwhile, ‘Sinners’ also made a strong impact with several wins, including Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan and Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler.
The night belonged to ‘One Battle After Another,’ which emerged as the ceremony’s biggest winner with six awards, including the coveted Best Picture prize.
‘Sinners’ also had a strong showing after leading nominations with 16, earning four Oscars, including Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan and Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler.
Another standout moment came when Amy Madigan won her first Academy Award for ‘Weapons, ‘decades after her first nomination in 1985.
The ceremony also featured wins for animated hit ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ while Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ dominated several craft categories, including production design, costume design and makeup.
