James Franco makes an interesting move here, starring as the antagonist. And after launching a new trailer at the end of last month, Lionsgate has released a new TV spot, teasing Statham promising to rescue his on-screen daughter.
HOMEFRONT stars Jason Statham as former drug enforcement agent, Phil Broker, a family man who moves off the grid with his daughter, to a seemingly quiet bayou backwater to escape his troubled past. However, Broker’s world soon becomes anything but quiet once he discovers that an underbelly of drugs and violence riddles the small town. Soon, a sociopathic methamphetamine kingpin, Gator Bodine (James Franco) puts Broker and his daughter in harm’s way forcing Broker back into action in order to save his family and the town.
Statham and Franco are joined by a great cast, starring alongside Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth (who looks particularly menacing in the snapshot of footage she features in below), Rachelle Lefevre, Frank Grillo, and Clancy Brown, introducing Izabela Vidovic.
Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Kiss the Girls) is the man at the helm, directing from Stallone’s script, based on Chuck Logan’s best-selling series of novels around Phil Broker.
Homefront will be released in the US at the end of the month on November 27th, with its UK release date set a week later on 6th December.
