Having garnered international attention with two well-received Elite Squad films – the first instalment of which won the Golden Bear at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival – Brazillian director Jose Padilha makes his English language debut with RoboCop, a contemporary reimagining of Verhoeven’s 1987 classic.
We caught up with the auteur ahead of the film’s UK release this week, and he tells us about the challenges he faced making the movie, the important differences which help to establish the remake as its own beast, and working with his star-studded cast. Have a watch below.
