Netflix has released the official trailer for ‘Heartland,’ a new mystery thriller starring Oscar winner Jessica Chastain as a former country music superstar drawn back into the spotlight by a deeply personal disappearance.

Written and directed by Shana Feste, whose credits include ‘The Greatest,’ ‘Country Strong’ and ‘Endless Love,’ the film was shot in Atlanta late last year and takes viewers into the darker corners of Nashville’s country music scene.

Chastain stars as Misty Jones, a former country megastar who has retreated from public life. When her niece, an up-and-coming country musician, suddenly disappears, Misty is forced to emerge from seclusion and begin searching for answers.

Her investigation soon takes her deep into Nashville’s seedy underbelly, forcing Misty to confront the ghosts of her own past while navigating a world where appearances can be dangerously deceptive. As her search continues, she discovers that almost nobody is quite who they claim to be, including herself.

The trailer teases a tense mystery packed with secrets, family drama and a dark look at the music industry, with Chastain leading the investigation as Misty attempts to uncover what really happened to her niece.

‘Heartland’ also stars Garrett Hedlund, Carter Faith, Ross Lynch, Ben Dickey, Jennifer Nettles and John Hawkes.
