Harrison Ford has made the leap into the MCU to join the upcoming feature ‘Captain America: New World Order.’

Ford will take over the role of Thaddeus ”Thunderbolt” Ross, replacing the late William Hurt.

Hurt first played Ross in Marvel Studios’ 2008’s ‘The Incredible Hulk,’ as a U.S. Army general who is instrumental in transforming scientist Bruce Banner (then played by Edward Norton) into the Hulk.

Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson returns for his first solo outing as Captain America. Tim Blake Nelson will reprise his ‘The Incredible Hulk’ role fourteen years later to play the villain The Leader.

In addition, Carl Lumbly will return as Isaiah Bradley while Danny Ramirez returns as the new Falcon after both appeared in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ series.

In addition, Shira Haas will play Sabra in what director Julius Onah dubs a paranoia thriller. The latest instalment of the Captain America saga hits cinemas on May 3rd 2024.

The next instalment of the Captain America story follows the events of the 2021 Disney+ series ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’; that show’s head writer, Malcolm Spellman, wrote the screenplay with ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ staff writer Dalan Musson. Julius Onah (“Luce,” “The Cloverfield Paradox”) is directing.
