Gugu Mbatha-Raw is the latest name to join Marvel’s Disney+ spinoff series ‘Loki’ starring opposite Tom Hiddleston.

Mbatha-Raw, whose role in the limited series is yet to be disclosed, joins Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, and the recently announced Owen Wilson.

The series will see Tom Hiddleston’s villainous trickster engage in some time travel.

During the Superbowl, Disney dropped a succulent teaser giving us a brief glimpse at the Marvel spinoff’s that will hit the streaming service. These included ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ sees Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) team up to take on Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl). ‘WandaVision’ has Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) finding herself stuck in a sitcom-esque lifestyle, and an extremely brief look at ‘Loki’.

The show is just one of a number of limited series centred on beloved MCU characters currently in the works at Disney+. Alongside ‘WandaVision’, ‘Falcon and Winter Soldier,’ and ‘Loki’ we can also expect to see ‘Ms. Marvel,’ ‘Hawkeye,’ ‘She-Hulk,’ and ‘Moon Knight’.

All 3 series still in production, we have to be patient as the first is not expected to hit the streaming service until late summer 2020.

On the big screen, Mbatha-Raw has starred in films such as ‘Motherless Brooklyn’ opposite Edward Norton, ‘Concussion,’ ‘A Wrinkle in Time,’ ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’. Her upcoming films include ‘Misbehaviour’ and ‘Come Away’. On the series side, she was recently seen in Apple’s ‘The Morning Show’ opposite Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell. She also lent her voice to Netflix’s ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance’.
