Nova

With a little over a month to go until the release of James Gunn and Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy, the quirky team of heroes (and the bad guys they face off against in the movie) have made the cover of the latest issue of Empire Magazine. Both of these can be seen below.

In some other interesting Guardians of the Galaxy news, it was recently reported that Firefly star Nathan Fillion would cameo in the movie as Nova. It’s not outside the realm of possibility, especially as the Nova Corps are featured in the space set adventure and the character is very much a fan favourite.

However, the director recently took to Twitter to debunk those reports, stating: “The rumors of my pal @NathanFillion playing Nova in #guardiansofthegalaxy have been greatly (and entirely) exaggerated. Sorry, humans.” He followed this up with another Tweet in response to a fan, confirming earlier reports that the actor will indeed make an appearance. ” @nathanfillion has a very small fun cameo he did as a favor to me.”

Of course, it’s common to see these sorts of denials, but the director later told one fan that, “I would never & have never lied to fans.” How fun would it be to see him reprise his Firefly role though?

The cosmic side of the Marvel Universe is huge, so Fillion could make an appearance as any number of lesser known heroes or villains in Guardians of the Galaxy. We’ll have to wait and see!
