Godzilla-Comic-Con-PosterAt Comic-Con last year, Legendary really made its presence felt when it came to introducing Godzilla to fans out in San Diego.

Gareth Edwards made one of the most memorable directorial debuts with 2010’s Monsters, and we’ve been eagerly awaiting his follow-up with Godzilla.

The first teaser poster was launched at the convention last year. And after hearing from Edwards himself that Legendary will be bringing ‘something very big’ to California once more, Mondo’s Comic-Con poster for the blockbuster has now debuted online, in both its regular and variant editions.

If you’re heading out to San Diego this weekend, you can pick up the Phantom City Collective posters from Mondo’s booth (#936) on Friday, with the regular edition priced at $45 (edition of 275) and the variant priced at $70 (edition of 100).

We’re expecting the blockbuster to be full of some pretty epic destruction. And given the strength of the story in Edwards’ debut, I’ve got a feeling that it won’t be a hollow, effects-heavy affair in the slightest.

The cast is undeniable brilliant, led by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, and David Strathairn.

And Edwards is directing from a script penned by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham.

Godzilla is set to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on May 16th, 2014, a release date that really cannot come fast enough. With any luck, conventiongoers will be treated to the first footage from the film this weekend, and hopefully it will land online very soon after.
