Of the many films heading to San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla is definitely one of the few we’re most looking forward to.
Warner Bros. and Legendary took the movie to the convention last summer, revealing a rather awesome teaser poster, and a snippet of footage that was shot prior to principal photography.
Edwards and co. are set to return to Hall H once more this weekend, and with shooting now nearing completion, we’re expecting an even greater little tease at what’s coming our way next summer.
Ahead of his appearance out in San Diego, Edwards has got a little pre-Comic-Con message for us, teasing a new viral site for Godzilla – GodzillaEncounter.com – and he says that Legendary has something very exciting planned. “Something very big is heading to San Diego.”
The impressive cast is led by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, and David Strathairn.
Edwards is directing from a script written by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham.
Godzilla is set to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on May 16th, 2014, and I cannot wait to see what Edwards brings to the table following his incredible debut, Monsters. Needless to say, if you’re heading to Comic-Con this weekend, be sure to check out Godzilla, because we’ve every reason to expect something amazing from it.
