To celebrate the UK release of The Girl From Plainville, which debuts on STARZPLAY this month, we sat down with some of its cast to find out about the critically-acclaimed series.

Based on the definitive Esquire article by Jesse Barron, The Girl From Plainville stars Elle Fanning as Michelle Carter and is inspired by the true story of her unprecedented ‘texting-suicide’ case. The limited series explores Carter’s relationship with Conrad Roy III and the events that led to his death and, later, her conviction of involuntary manslaughter.

Chatting to cast members Colton Ryan (Conrad Roy III), Aya Cash (Katie Rayburn), and Cara Buono (Gail Carter), we discuss the unique challenges of not just playing real people but those who were integral parts of the court case and subsequent convictions, how they approached the delicate nature of the show, the rave reviews from its US debut and the brilliance of Elle Fanning, who dazzles in the lead role.
