Fox Searchlight, the studio behind Little Miss Sunshine and and Juno, have acquired the rights to Motherf***er, an original comedy script penned by Daryl Wein and Zoe Lister Jones.

Wein and Jones previously wrote and starred in the indie comedy Breaking Upwards, which attracted some moderate buzz from critics, including the New York Times.

Synopsis: Motherf***er centers on a guy who falls in love with a girl. When she brings him home to meet her parents, he falls for his girlfriends mum.

It’s a project that has a huge amount of potential from an up-and-coming comedy writing duo, who are on the verge of hitting the big time.

In related news, Anne Hathaway, who’s apparently a huge fan of Wein and Jones’ work, is circling another one of their project, titled Lola Versus, which currently doesn’t have studio backing.

Collider reported this one.
