Currently in cinemas alongside Stallone and the gang in The Expendables 2, and previously seen in one of the year’s biggest blockbusters, The Hunger Games, Liam Hemsworth has had a pretty excellent year, making a strong name for himself (beyond the early references to him as Chris Hemsworth’s brother).

He’ll next be starring in romance-drama, Love and Honor, opposite Teresa Palmer (Wish You Were Here, the upcoming Warm Bodies) in the female lead, and now the first trailer has made its way online.

“When Dalton Joiner (Austin Stowell), a young soldier in Vietnam, gets dumped by his hometown girlfriend Jane (Aimee Teegarden), he vows to sneak home during war to win her back. His best buddy,

Mickey Wright (Hemsworth), never one to miss out on a wild time, decides to go with him. They must get back to America, change her mind and return to the war without getting caught. These best friends end up learning the true meaning of love, honor and commitment.”

Danny Mooney is making his feature directorial debut, with a script co-written by Jim Burnstein (D3: The Mighty Ducks) and Garrett K. Schiff (101 Dalmatians 2).

No word yet on when we can expect it to hit the big screen, but there’s a good chance it will find a solid audience who enjoyed Hemsworth in the likes of The Last Song.

Hemsworth has finished production on the drama, Empire State, alongside Dwayne Johnson, Emma Roberts, and Nikki Reed, and is currently in the midst of shooting dramatic thriller, Paranoia, alongside Gary Oldman, Amber Heard, Harrison Ford, and Josh Holloway. And with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire set for release in November, 2013, we’ve got a lot more of the younger Hemsworth to look forward to in the coming year. For now, here’s the first trailer for Love and Honor.
