Prime Video has unveiled the first official images from its highly anticipated Original series ‘Carrie,’ offering fans their first glimpse at Mike Flanagan’s bold new adaptation of Stephen King’s groundbreaking debut novel.

Making its television debut for the very first time, ‘Carrie’ reimagines King’s iconic coming-of-age horror story for a modern audience. Across eight episodes, the series promises a fresh and emotionally layered take on the beloved classic, exploring themes of identity, bullying, trauma and the devastating consequences of cruelty in the social media era.

The newly released images introduce Summer Howell as Carrie White, alongside Samantha Sloyan as her deeply religious and fiercely controlling mother, Margaret White. The series follows Carrie, a socially isolated teenager who has spent her entire life sheltered inside her family home. Following the sudden death of her father, she is thrust into the harsh reality of public high school, where she becomes the target of relentless bullying and a viral online scandal.

Rather than simply retelling the familiar story, Flanagan’s adaptation expands King’s original novel by delving deeper into its characters and relationships. The series examines how seemingly ordinary decisions and acts of both compassion and cruelty gradually build towards one life-changing night, raising questions about whether Carrie is destined to become a victim, a hero, or something far more terrifying.

Summer Howell takes on the legendary title role following an extensive casting search involving more than 1,000 actors. She is joined by an impressive ensemble cast including Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.
