Prime Video has unveiled a fresh batch of first-look images and new casting details for season two of ‘The Assassin,’ the sharp-edged thriller from acclaimed writing duo Harry Williams and Jack Williams.
Returning for the new chapter are Keeley Hawes, Freddie Highmore, Shalom Brune-Franklin and Devon Terrell, with filming currently underway in Malta ahead of a 2026 debut on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland.
Season two picks up after Julie and Edward’s disastrous trip to Berlin, with the pair once again estranged following a mysterious fallout neither is willing to discuss. Julie, played by Hawes, has quietly drifted back into her old life as an assassin while also attempting to navigate the chaos-riddled battlefield known as dating. Meanwhile, Edward’s honeymoon with Kayla takes an unexpected turn, forcing him to reunite with Julie as they plunge into Spain’s dangerous criminal underworld. The new mission threatens not only their survival, but whatever remains of their fractured relationship.

The new season expands the cast with several notable additions. Arnaud Binard joins as Bastien, a charismatic Frenchman whose encounter with Julie may not be entirely accidental. Natalia Tena will play Inspector Cortez, a razor-sharp Spanish detective with fierce ambition and an instinct for reading people before they realise they have been studied.

Behind them is Ezra played by Devon Terrell.
Boris Van Severen has been cast as Titus, a conflicted Belgian man consumed by resentment and loss whose desperate attempt to seize the life he believes he deserves spirals dangerously out of control. Jacqueline Boatswain joins as Isha Lockwood, a long-serving employee within Ezra’s family mining empire who increasingly clashes with Ezra before circumstances push her far beyond the limits of her role.
Also joining the ensemble is Monic Hendrickx as Louise, a mysterious figure with deep ties to Julie and Edward whose presence ripples across both their past and present.
Further additions include Karl-El Santos, Mehdi Regragui, Casimiro Aguza, Tony Corvillo, Amin Hamada and Lolo Herrero, all of whom will form part of Inspector Cortez’s team.
