Rise of the Guardians is heading into theatres next month, and it promises to be one of the best animated films of the year.

Coming from DreamWorks, the studio behind Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and so many great films, their latest animated feature brings together some of our favourite fairy-tale characters for one big adventure.

We caught the latest trailer over the summer, and now the studio have released the first international TV spot ahead of its release next month.

“RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is an epic and magical adventure that tells the story of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost – legendary characters with previously unknown extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children everywhere.”

Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine, Jude Law, Isla Fisher, Alec Baldwin, and Dakota Goyo lead the fantastic voice cast, every bit as good as you’d expect from a studio like DreamWorks.

Peter Ramsey (head of story on Monsters vs. Aliens) makes his feature directorial debut, from a script by David Lindsay-Abaire (Robots, Rabbit Hole), adapting William Joyce’s popular book, The Guardians of Children.

Rise of the Guardians will be released in 3D in the US on 21st November, followed by a 30th November release here in the UK. With Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph due in the States at the start of November, it will be interesting to see how audiences react to them both, coming so close together. For now, here’s the first TV spot. Enjoy.
