Debuting as the closing night film at Sundance this year to very strong reviews, The Words has an all-star cast that promises to make it one of the best indie films of the year.

Bradley Cooper takes the lead once more after his brilliantly-received performance in Limitless, and starring alongside him is the brilliant Olivia Wilde, Zoë Saldana, Dennis Quaid, and Jeremy Irons.

Following on from the great things we’ve seen from the film so far, Yahoo Movies have released the first featurette, taking us behind the scenes with Cooper and his co-stars.

“Rory Jansen, a struggling writer, aspires to be the next great literary voice. When he discovers a lost manuscript in a weathered attaché case, he realizes he possesses something extraordinary that he desperately wishes he had created. Rory decides to pass the work off as his own and finally receives the recognition he desperately craves. However, he soon learns that living with his choice will not be as easy as he thought as he faces a moral dilemma that will make him take a hard look at the man he has become.

In their directorial debut, Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal have crafted a subtle tale that examines how overwhelming desire can lead to unforeseen and unwanted consequences. Bolstered by a strong cast, led by Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Irons, The Words adeptly assembles multiple narratives that reveal how one man’s lost legacy holds the life of another man captive.”

Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal, co-writers for the TRON: Legacy story, make what look to be a very strong directorial debut here, directing from their own script.

The Words will be released in the US on 7th September. As yet, there’s still no word on a UK release, but I remain hopeful that that will change soon; this is one I’d love to see on the big screen.
