With Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade as the leading quartet in The Watch, it’s all but guaranteed that the film is going to be a big success.
We’ve seen great things already from Akiva Schaffer’s second feature behind the camera, with years of success behind him on Saturday Night Live and his debut Hot Rod, and now Yahoo Movies have released the first clip from the R-rated summer comedy.
“Four everyday suburban guys come together to form a neighborhood watch group, but only as an excuse to escape their humdrum lives one night a week. But when they accidentally discover that their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, they have no choice but to save their neighborhood–and the world–from total extermination.”
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Jared Stern are behind the script, which sounds absolutely brilliant.
Rogen and Goldberg will be making their directorial debuts on The End of the World, due out next year, which has an immense cast, headed up by Rogen, Jason Segel, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Jay Baruchel, and Danny McBride, with awesome cameos from Emma Watson, Rihanna, Michael Cera, Aziz Ansari, and more, and it’s set to be one of the best films of next summer, due out in June 2013.
The Watch will be released in the US on 27th July, before coming to the UK a little later on 29th August. Until then, here’s the great first clip for your viewing pleasure.
