Zero-Dark-Thirty-UK-PosterKathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty has become one of the most talked about films of the awards season in recent months.

Coming into play late in the game, with a limited US release from tomorrow, the film has already been picking up a slew of awards, and just recently added four Golden Globe nominations to its name when the nominees were announced last week.

With the film entering selected theatres in the States tomorrow, Yahoo Movies have debuted the final US trailer, giving us yet another look at one of the most promising films of the year.

“The upcoming true-life drama “Zero Dark Thirty” details the decade-long global hunt for Osama bin Laden, and in this exclusive in-theater banner, you get a satellite view of his secret compound in Pakistan. Two Black Hawk helicopters are seen approaching the fortified compound in the moments before Navy SEALs carried out the raid that lead to bin Laden’s death. The movie from the Oscar-winning writer and director of “The Hurt Locker,” will hit theaters on December 19.”

Jessica Chastain has been lauded for her leading performance – which will almost certainly see her through to a Best Actress nomination at the Oscars next month – and she stars alongside a fantastic cast, headed up by Mark Strong, Joel Edgerton, Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, James Gandolfini, Scott Adkins, Jennifer Ehle, Chris Pratt, Édgar Ramirez, Frank Grillo, Nash Edgerton, and Mark Duplass, with Ricky Sekhon taking the role of bin Laden himself.

Bigelow is once more directing from a script by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker), with the two producing alongside the brilliant Megan Ellison (True Grit, The Master, Lawless).

Zero Dark Thirty will be given a limited release in the US from tomorrow, 19th December. It will then be opening wide on 11th January, with its UK release date set for 25th January, and you can be sure this is one worth waiting for. Here’s the final US trailer to prove it.
