F. Gary Gray’s Fast and Furious 8 is currently shooting in various locations across the world, and Universal Pictures has today released a behind the scenes look at the reunited cast.
In the video below, we see Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Kurt Russell, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ludacris, Scott Eastwood, and…Jason Statham?!
While it’s been known for a while that the British tough guy would return for this instalment, the last time we saw him was in a heavily protected prison cell, so what’s he doing out and in the same room as the Fast and Furious franchise’s heroes? Could it be that they’re forced to work together in order to take on Cipher, the villain being played by Charlize Theron?
In other Fast and Furious news, it was earlier this week that producer Hiram Garcia revealed that they’ve been talking about giving Johnson’s character Hobbs his own spinoff movie.
“The scheduling of it all is a challenge but there are always talks about a potential spin-off movie and what we can do with it. DJ and I were just talking about that the other day – our visions for it. He’s a beloved enough character that they’d love to see what a ride with him would be like in his world. We have tons of history that we’ve crafted for this guy that we continue to sprinkle in throughout the movies. You’ll see a little bit more in this movie but ultimately we want to take that ride and spin him off and have some fun with it.”
