There’s a certain cinematic electricity when Jason Statham locks into a role that demands grit, speed, and a permanent scowl set to “maximum intimidation.” Now, after their recent collaborations on ‘The Beekeeper’ and ‘A Working Man,’ he’s reuniting with director David Ayer for a fresh, high-stakes action-thriller titled ‘John Doe.’
The film arrives with a script from blockbuster veteran Zak Penn, known for penning kinetic crowd-pleasers like ‘Ready Player One’ and ‘The Avengers.’
At the heart of ‘John Doe’ is a classic mystery wrapped in a ticking time bomb. Statham will play the “Man With No Name,” a figure stripped of memory, identity, and history. The only thing left in his mind? A single face: Eliza.

As pieces of his past begin to resurface, they don’t arrive gently. They crash in like broken glass, revealing a chilling truth. He wasn’t just anyone. He was trained. Programmed. Set on a mission that never stopped running.
And now? The very people who created him are hunting him down.
‘John Doe’ is being produced and financed by Miramax, with Statham also producing through Punch Palace Productions. Penn and Paul Schiff join as producers.
