Having started life as two TV movies back in 1977, ‘Fantasy Island’ soon turned in to a classic TV series that spanned over seven years. Now, in 2020, Blumhouse has added its special mix of spicy horror to bring the story back to life with a much darker edge than the show’s original audience would expect.

In ‘Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island’ the enigmatic Mr Roarke played by Michael Peña, makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.”

Described as a mix of Westworld and The Cabin in the Woods the movie is directed by Jeff Wadlow, the film stars Michael Pena, Michael Rooker, Lucy Hale, Maggie Q, and Jimmy O Yang.

We spoke to Maggie Q who plays the role of Gwen and probably one of the most switched on guest that is sucked into the Island’s sick fantasy world.

Across the pond, our man James Kleinmann spoke to Lucy Hale, Michael Pena and director Jeff Wadlow. You can see those interviews below.

The film is released in cinemas on March 6th.
