To celebrate the release of The Storied Life of AJ Fikry, which hits US cinemas this weekend, we had the pleasure of chatting to the films two stars about the film.
A.J. Fikry’s (Kunal Nayyar) wife has died, his bookstore is in trouble, and now his prized rare edition of Poe poems has been stolen. However, when a mysterious package appears, its arrival gives him the chance to start his life over and see things anew with the help of bookseller Amelia (Lucy Hale).
Chatting to Nayyar and Hale, we talk about the adaptation of the book, how the script impacted them so hard that they both came on as executive producers to help get the film filmed, why their characters are different from any they have played before and which characters from their hit television shows – The Big Bang Theory and Pretty Little Liars – could benefit from having a read of the book.
