In a world made up superheroes we know and love, it’s always nice to be introduced to one who is somewhat lesser known, as Shazam! makes his cinematic debut in this fun and layered new flick – and to celebrate its release we sat down with the lead role himself, Zachary Levi as well as the film’s villain Mark Strong, and director David Sandberg alongside producer Peter Safran.

Levi discusses with us how fun it was to play a role who has so much fun being a superhero, while he comments on the viral video that showed him meeting a young fan, and we asked about how it feels to be playing a character that has this sort of impact on the next generation. Meanwhile Strong discusses how cathartic it can be playing a villain, and the freedom he had in making this character his own, while also commenting on his own knowledge of the comic book universe.

Finally, Sandberg and Safran talking about the casting of Levi, how aware of other movies they needed to be when making this, and why the character of Black Adam was not considered to be a part of this film.
