For the last thirty years or so, Keith Chegwin has been known as a friendly, cheeky and jovial TV presenter, commonly seen on breakfast TV waking members of the public at the crack of dawn, and presenting them with substantial amounts of money. Now he’s turned his hand to acting (sort of), as the title character in new Brit-flick, Kill Keith. In fact, as you’ll see in our interview (below), he’s actually returning to acting, having worked on some rather interesting projects early in his career.
In addition to discussing his acting experience (look out for my ‘surprised face’ when he explains where he worked with Russell Grant and Duran Duran’s Simon LeBon), we spoke about some of the more amusing people he’s door-stepped, how he ended up playing himself in the project and how the promise of regular pay meant that he ended up as a TV presenter rather than an actor.
Kill Keith Keith stars Keith Chegwin, Tony Blackburn, Susannah Fielding, Dominic Burns, Simon Phillips, Marc Pickering and Joe Pasquale, and will be in UK cinemas 11.11.11.
