Netflix has released the official trailer for ‘Gentle Monster,’ a gripping psychological thriller starring Léa Seydoux as a mother forced to confront the terrifying possibility that she never truly knew her husband.
Written and directed by Austrian filmmaker Marie Kreutzer, the film follows Lucy, a celebrated concert pianist whose life is shattered when police raid her home. With her husband accused of an unspeakable crime, Lucy finds herself thrust into a nightmare of uncertainty as she struggles to protect her son while piecing together the truth about the man she thought she knew.
The new trailer sets the stage for an increasingly tense descent into paranoia and suspicion. As Lucy attempts to make sense of the allegations surrounding her husband, the boundaries between trust, family and survival begin to crumble.
‘Gentle Monster’ made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, where Seydoux earned rave reviews for her fearless and raw performance as Lucy, a woman whose carefully constructed world begins to unravel following the shocking revelations about her husband.
Alongside Seydoux, the film stars Jella Haase, Laurence Rupp and Academy Award nominee Catherine Deneuve.
