Ewan McGregor has been set to play the role of the villain, Black Mask, in the forthcoming ‘Birds of Prey’ movie.

Black Mask is a Gotham City mob boss who leads the False Face Society gang and blames others for his shortcomings. In the comics, Black Mask is the criminal alias of Roman Sionis, a brutally sadistic kingpin with an ebony black mask which was burned onto his face. He has a very similar background to Gotham’s Batman, born into a wealthy Gotham City family but instead of inheriting the family business when his parents were murdered in a back alley, Roman killed his parents because they didn’t approve of his girlfriend at the time.
