Earning universal acclaim since its debut at Toronto earlier this month – you can read our own review here – Rian Johnson’s Looper heads into theatres next weekend, and the anticipation really couldn’t be higher.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt take the charge in Johnson’s sci-fi/actioner, and after catching a new image from the film yesterday, we’ve got a new clip featuring Gordon-Levitt and Blunt.

“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.”

Johnson is once more directing from his own script, with Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, Noah Segan, and Garrett Dillahunt completing the cast nicely.

Looper will be released in the UK and US next Friday, 28th September, a date which cannot come fast enough. This looks set to be the best action/sci-fi film of the year. Whilst we eagerly await next weekend to roll around, here’s the new clip.
