It feels like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in everything these days; Central Intelligence comes out this month, Baywatch will be released in 2017, and everything from Rampage to a San Andreas sequel and DC Comics adaptation Shazam are on the horizon for the actor.

However, Hollywood’s busiest leading man may be about to add another project to his slate.

According to Deadline, “there are persistent rumors Universal wants [Dwayne Johnson] howling at the moon when it gets around to the Wolf Man movie that is part of its classic monsters franchise revival plans.” It’s clearly early days then, but it’s easy to imagine the wrestler turned actor being the most charismatic and physically imposing Wolf Man yet!

If that happens, The Rock would become part of Universal’s monster movie universe. That kicked off with the disappointing Dracula Untold and will be followed up by a number of other releases, including The Mummy starring Tom Cruise and Star Trek Beyond’s Sofia Boutella.

Whether or not Johnson can find time to play the Wolf Man remains to be seen, and with no release date or writer/director attached, it could be some time before we hear anything solid. Stay tuned though as more details about Universal’s plans will hopefully be revealed soon.
