Roll up, roll up! The life of famous showman P.T. Barnum is heading to the big screen (with the aptly-cast Hugh Jackson in lead role) and now a director is onboard.

Michael Gracey, a relative newcomer to feature directing (he’s previously made a number of commercials, and worked in visual effects for many years) has been chosen to bring Barnum’s life to the big screen in the film entitled, Greatest Showman on Earth. It will follow that famous figure from the late 18th century who is best remembered for founding the circus that became the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Both Gracey and his star currently have projects in the pipeline (another Snow White reinterpretation, The Order of the Seven, and the next Wolverine adventure, respectively) so we could be waiting a little while yet to see this brought to life.
