As if it isn’t already exciting enough that Lucasfilm are launching a new Star Wars trilogy with The Force Awakens this December, they’re also plotting a number of spinoffs. The first “Anthology” movie is titled Rogue One and is set to be released next December, while Boba Fett is expected to star in the next one.

Not too much is known about Rogue One other than the fact that it will apparently focus on a group of Rebel pilots who set out to steal the plans to the first Death Star. The Theory of Everything’s Felicity Jones has been cast in the lead mystery role, while Monsters and Godzilla helmer Gareth Edwards is set to direct.

A new report claims to shed some light on what fans should expect from the movie though. According to JoBlo, Star Wars: Rogue One will indeed be set between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, while it’s set to be much “darker and grittier” (yes, those words again) than previous Star Wars movies.

In terms of vehicles, AT-ATs, X-Wings, Y-Wings, and AT-STs are all expect to appear. while at least some of the film will take place on Yavin-IV. It also sounds like that will lead to some cool jungle warfare scenes!

The site goes on to mention that the Stormtroopers will all be in their classic armour, while a number of new aliens and droids will also be introduced. It’s very much going to be a war film from the viewpoint of the Rebellion, and while these new details don’t reveal too much, this Star Wars movie sounds very exciting!
