The first teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens has created a lot of discussion (you can read our in-depth breakdown by clicking here), but there was one part in particular which has fans talking.

That’s the voiceover provided by an unknown character. “There has been an awakening. Have you felt it? The Dark side…and the light,” he says. Speculation has been running rampant in regards to who the voice belongs to, with Max von Syndow and Benedict Cumberbatch just two of the most popular theories so far.

However, according to a new report, the narrator is in fact Andy Serkis! He obviously sounds very different, but this is the same actor who has transformed himself into both Gollum and Caesar, so that’s no surprise!

The site goes on to reveal that while they couldn’t pin down any specifics about role the motion capture expert will play in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, “He’s playing a pivotal role in the film, although he will not have a lot of screen time.” Could Andy Serkis be Star Wars new big bad?

We’re going to have to wait and see, but seeing Serkis once again transform himself into potentially another iconic character should be fascinating to see. If you still haven’t watched it (really?), click here for the trailer.
