Yahoo! Movies have posted the first poster for Yogi Bear 3D, the live action feature film centred on the infamous character created by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The film, directed by Eric Brevig, was initially announced in 2008, with a release date set in advance for December 17, 2010. Yogi Bear 3D features the voices of Dan Aykroyd, Justin Timberlake, Anna Faris, Tom Cavanagh and Christine Taylor, Andrew Daly and T.J. Miller.

Synopsis: Jellystone Park has been losing business, so greedy Mayor Brown (Daly) decides to shut it down and sell the land. That means families will no longer be able to experience the natural beauty of the outdoors — and, even worse, Yogi (Aykroyd) and Boo Boo (Timberlake) will be tossed out of the only home they’ve ever known. Faced with his biggest challenge ever, Yogi must prove that he really is “smarter than the average bear” as he and Boo Boo join forces with their old nemesis Ranger Smith (Cavanagh) to find a way to save Jellystone Park from closing forever.

A feature film version of this classic animation series was bound to happen at some stage, and the voice cast is exciting, even if it does include Justin Timberlake who, after seemingly abandoned his singing career, appears to be striving for a hit film. It’s hard to tell though how this one will turn out, but with Yahoo! Movies promising a trailer will be posted tomorrow, we’re bound to get a better feel for the film then.

Meanwhile, check out the poster below:

As mentioned above, Yogi Bear 3D will hit cinemas on December 17, 2010. Warner Bros. Pictures are handling distribution.
