The first trailer has been released for Insidious 3, the third instalment of the horror franchise – a prequel this time around – which features a new cast of actors who replace original stars Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne.
Meanwhile, the first TV spot for the Poltergeist remake has appeared online, and it’s full of great new footage! That’s set to be released on May 22nd, while Insidious 3 reaches us on June 5th. Spooky summer!
Insidious 3 is the latest chapter in the terrifying horror series, this time written and directed by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
In the case of Poltergeist, legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) and director Gil Kenan (Monster House) contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever. Both movies sound pretty terrifying, eh?
