‘Mission: Impossible’ filmmaker, Christopher McQuarrie has been letting loose a few new details on what we might expect to see in the upcoming sequels of the blockbuster franchise.

McQuarrie joined the 100th episode of the Light the Fuse podcast to disclose that being in lockdown has given them the opportunity to fine-tune the stories, which will “make the movie better in prep than we’ve ever had a chance to do before.”

He also went on to reveal, without naming names, that they have their sights on an actor to join the film which not even the rest of the cast are aware of: “An actor I was very excited about. I don’t know where that is, because we had talked days before [the shutdown] and it was an incredibly exciting casting coup.”

Two characters that are set for story arcs similar to that of Ethan’s in ‘Fallout’, Simon Pegg’s Benji and Hayley Atwell’s character. Whilst, not a “villain”, McQuarrie called her character a “force of nature” that will “test all of the members of the IMF”.
