Here’s an intriguing development for those Paranormal Activity fans out there.

With the third feature being pencilled in for an October release date (are the makers envisioning a Saw-like multiple number of sequels?) Catfish directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman have been signed on bring it to the screen.

While the duo have yet to prove themselves in the feature film arena, they managed to make quite a splash with their social networking documentary last year, and regardless of the authenticity of the piece, were able to create some moments of genuine dread and tension.

Let’s hope they’re able make a similar impression with this second sequel and not suffer the same fate as another celebrated documentarian (Joe Berlinger) who came a cropper with his sequel to another low-budget seemingly ‘home-made’ horror phenomenon, The Blair Witch Project.
