Blue-Jasmine-Cate-Blanchett

For many years the EPKs and DVD featurettes which accompany the films of Woody Allen hold a single thread which binds them all. An actor is called up by the director and before they have read the script, or even know what part they are to play, they agree to be involved. Such is the reputation and reverence in which Allen is held by his peers and his latest film, Blue Jasmine, is one of his most critically acclaimed releases for years.

James Kleinmann sat down with Jasmine herself, Cate Blanchett, to talk about the film’s tone, the complexity of her character and the relationship with her sister on which the film builds to absurdity.

We loved the film, our five star review is here, and you can see the interview below.
