From the director of Oldboy, Park Chan-wook, comes a very promising thriller, penned by the brilliant Wentworth Miller, with the script making its way onto the 2010 Black List, before being brought to life by the famous South Korean director, making his English debut behind the camera.

The first trailer and teaser poster have now been released over at Apple, giving us an excellent first look at the film, led by Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, and Matthew Goode.

“After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother Evelyn (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.”

After soaring to fame as one of the leading brothers in Prison Break, Miller is now making his feature debut as a writer, and it looks like he’s got a fantastic script coming our way next year.

Jacki Weaver, Dermot Mulroney, Lucas Till, and Alden Ehrenreich complete the cast, with Ridley Scott and his late brother, Tony Scott, serving as executive producers.

Stoker will be released in the US and UK and 1st March, 2013, and looks like it could well be one of the best dramatic thrillers of next year, and hopefully the first in a long career to come from the pen of Wentworth Miller. Here’s the first trailer to give you a taste of what he and Chan-wook have in store for us. Enjoy.
