Todd Solondz’s next feature film, Dark Horse, has been spending recent months screening at film festivals around the world, including the London Film Festival last month, where Craig was lucky enough to catch it (you can read his review of the film here).

We got a the first poster and clip for the film back in August, both of which were excellent, and we’ve now got a brilliant first trailer to share with you, courtesy of BleedingCool via The Playlist. The film comes with Polish subtitles, but is thankfully in the original English so we can enjoy it to the full here in the UK.

Jordan Gelber leads a fantastic cast that also includes Selma Blair, Christopher Walken, Mia Farrow, Justin Bartha, Zachary Booth, and Aasif Mandvi, with Solondz taking writing and directing duties, and this trailer definitely makes it look like one to watch out for.

“The film sees thirtysomething Abe (Jordan Gelber) stuck in arrested development, living with his parents (Mia Farrow and Christopher Walken), with a hobby of collecting toys. In order to lose his status as the dark horse of the family, he begins a relationship with Miranda (Selma Blair), who has moved back home after seeing her literary and academic career fail.”

Despite being well received by critics across the festivals it’s been touring, the film is yet to pick up a distributor here or in the States, but hopefully it’ll just be a matter of time, because it looks excellent. I confess that I’m yet to see any of Solondz’s previous work, but I’m well aware that he’s a respected writer-director, and this trailer certainly shows a lot of promise. Without further ado, here it is for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.
