Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson are all set to return for the follow-up to 2016’s ‘The Accountant.’

The original movie’s director, Gavin O’Connor, is also making a comeback into the director’s chair, to take the helm on a script penned by the original film’s screenwriter, Bill Dubuque.

In the sequel, the story unfolds when Medina, a former employee of a notorious organization, receives the tragic news of her ex-boss’s assassination. Driven by a quest for justice, Medina turns to Christian, a trusted ally and a mastermind detective, to unravel the mystery behind the murder.

To aid in their mission, Christian enlists the help of his estranged yet highly skilled brother, Brax. Employing his exceptional intellect and unorthodox methods, Christian and his team embark on a perilous journey to solve a complex puzzle that has confounded the authorities. However, their relentless pursuit of the truth puts them in the crosshairs of some of the deadliest assassins in the world. As they inch closer to uncovering the sinister plot, they find themselves in a deadly race against time to stay alive and bring the culprits to justice.

Affleck and Matt Damon are producing for Artists Equity, alongside 51 Entertainment’s Lynette Howell Taylor, and Mark Williams. Exec producers include Artists Equity’s Dani Bernfeld, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe, and Alison Winter. In addition, Scott Lastaiti and Jamie Patricof serve as executive producers.
