Going in an entirely different direction with the Snow White fairy tale to Tarsem Singh’s Mirror Mirror, Universal and Rupert Sanders’ Snow White and the Huntsman is promising to be a fantasy action-film of epic proportions, based on all the great things we’ve seen so far.

Kristen Stewart was recently a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and a new clip from the film debuted alongside her appearance on the show. Universal have also put out a brilliant new poster for our viewing pleasure, featuring Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, and Charlize Theron as the brilliant leading stars.

“In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.”

Along with Stewart, Hemsworth, and Theron, we can also look forward to seeing Sam Claflin, Nick Frost, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Lily Cole, and Bob Hoskins on the big screen.

Sanders looks to have made an impressive directorial debut, working from a script co-written by Hossein Amini (Drive) and Evan Daugherty (also making his debut).

Snow White and the Huntsman will be released in the UK on 30th May (pulled up by two days for a Wednesday release), followed very shortly after in the US on 1st June. To catch up on the rest of our coverage of the film, just click here. And as usual with the poster below, you can click to enlarge.
