It felt like matter of time before a film depicting the dangers of social media hit our screens, and now Ingrid Goes West has done just that in quite glorious fashion. To mark the film’s release we sat down with the title star Aubrey Plaza, who discusses all things Ingrid with us.

Plaza speaks about her own experiences with the ‘Ingrids’ of the world, and whether she too has encountered Instafans of a similar nature. She also tells us whether she feels more sympathy for such people having now embodied one, and whether she can see any of herself in the role she is taking on. We then go on to discuss her own social media presence and what she enjoys/dislikes about Instagram, while we even ask what her very favourite account is to follow.

Synopsis

Following the death of her mother and a series of self-inflicted setbacks, young Ingrid Thorburn escapes a humdrum existence by moving out West to befriend her Instagram obsession, a Los Angeles socialite named Taylor Sloane. After a quick bond is forged between these unlikeliest of buddies, the facade begins to crack in both women’s lives — with comically malicious results.

Ingrid Goes West is released on November 17th, and you can read our review of the film here.
