Over the last few days news, the third film in Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’ saga has gone into development with Michael Douglas set to return as Hank Pym.

While out promoting season 2 of ‘The Kominsky Method’ Douglas has confirmed to Collider he is set to return to the set in January 2021 which would suggest the film would be due for release in mid-2022.

Peyton Reed will return to helm the next instalment. Paul Rudd is expected to return as Scott Lang. This would see Rudd returning for the fifth time as the character following the two previous films and both ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

Previous to ‘Endgame’, The last chapter, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp, followed in the aftermath of ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

The sequel to 2015’s ‘Ant-Man’ was a critical and commercial success grossing over $622 million worldwide.

Douglas can currently be seen on Netflix in ‘The Kominsky Method’ alongside Alan Arkin. Douglas plays Sandy Kominsky, an actor who years ago had a brief fling with success and is now a revered Hollywood acting coach. He was previously seen in ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
