Joss Whedon’s The Avengers currently stands at the highest-grossing film of 2012, the third-highest of all time, and one of the most awesome films ever made.
Marvel have already hired Whedon back to write and direct the second film, set for release on 1st May, 2015, and with the anticipation of Phase Two on high, the future is looking incredibly bright.
Before all that gets underway with Iron Man 3 next year, though, the DVD/Blu-ray release of The Avengers is just on the horizon, and with only a few weeks left to go, Yahoo Movies have the alternate opening, which will be a Blu-ray exclusive special feature, to share with us.
The all-star cast, in case you missed it in theatres, sees Whedon bringing together our favourite faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and introducing a handful of new ones, with the cast headed up by Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, and of course, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and Paul Bettany as the voice of JARVIS.
The Avengers will be released in DVD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3D on 17th September here in the UK, followed by a 25th September release in the US.
